Boomer and Bucket

Well, this month I've officially begun an alternate life as a comic artist, having just completed the second of two short collaborations with Chris Reilly and Steve Ahlquist. The former is a two-pager called "Boomer Brushes His Teeth" and will appear in Reilly's surreal tale, "The Trouble with Igor." The second will be part of the anthology "More Strange Eggs," and is a short history of the Boxing Bucket character--I call it "Raging Bucket."

Hello. Xombies was one of the two books in 2004 that I not only finished but didn't throw away. (The other being After Human by Michael Cross, you guys should work together!)

Glad to see you've got a website, and more books on the way.

- Mike (No, not Cross, I'm already sorry I brought him into this)
Austin, TX

P.S.
I don't know if this is the appropriate place to say these things, but I'm doing the best I can!

Hey, Mike! Thanks for the kind words. With Xombies winding down, I'm glad to know that there are still folks like you finding and appreciating it.

Sorry it's taken me until now to respond--I'm still not in the habit of checking this thing. This web stuff is all new to me.

I'll have to look up After Human--thanks for the tip.

I hear Austin is an awesome place, with a great arts and music scene. I lived in the Southwest for a while (Santa Fe), and sometimes really miss it.

Well, thanks mucho, Mike.
Best--Walter

Hello! ^.^
I'm a big fan of the book Xombies, and I just recently found your main webpage and now your blog.
I can't wait to read Xombie-Rama, the preview on your webpage made me so happy! After I finished Xombies I wasn't sure I'd see any type of sequel, but after browsing through Wikipedia I discovered your site and again here I am...!
I'll definetly be looking for More Strange Eggs, I love Slave Labour Graphics they publish some of my little brother and my favorite Graphic novels/Comic books!
I'm now a fan of your artwork, and to be honest I thought the idea of Torque sounded very interesting! I never got into the Matrix but I guess it has kinda made the virtual reality thing un-brand-new... Lack of words can't believe I'm actually commenting on your blog. I can't wait to see more of your books published and your art!
I think I feel like rereading Xombies now over and over until I see a new book of yours out...!
The Lenny's picture Album short collection looked very interesting too! Wow I just can't stop praising! I better end this, It's getting late here and I'm off to have my little zombie dreams.
A Big Fan,
Haley

Hey Haley!
Thanks a lot for the great note--I appreciate the positive feedback (especially since I visited your excellent site), and hope to have some new projects on the way soon, including Xombie Rama and a graphic novel called Plankton Man.
Thanks again, Haley--you made my day!
